From 1 October 2015 the following new rates are:
• Standard adult rate (for workers aged 21 or over) £6.70 up from £6.50.
• Development rate (for workers aged between 18 and 20) £5.30 up from £5.13.
• Young workers rate (for workers aged under 18 but above the compulsory school age) £3.87 up from £3.79.
• Apprenticeship rate (for apprentices under 19 of age or those aged 19 and over but in the first year of their apprenticeship) £5.35 up from £5.08.
From April 2016 the new rate for workers aged 25 and over, called the National Living Wage will be introduced. Full details will be provided in due course.
